I am Vai. I try to learn a little of everything and do everything. My love of bicycles has convinced me that all other modes of transportation are inferior.

I love outdoors - backpacking, skiing, climbing, scrambling, inline skating and sailing. Outdoors made me move to the Pacific Northwest. I also love to hole up just reading or listening to books.

I have circled back to building robots for a living & also enjoy doing so in my free time. Writing code is an art and I try to write as little as possible, keeping it as simple as possible. Every line of code will come back to haunt you, so I try to be sparing with them.

I love designing circuits - I wish I did this more. Systems thinking is the only way to make complex robots function well and I’ve been studying as much of it as I can.
